Moosesafari as a hike -

Moosesafari as a hike

Imagine that you as silently as possible sneak up on the moose where it grazes in the forest, you are led by an experienced moose guide with a dog. In advance, neither you nor the guide know where the dog will lead you, on the way you must sense nature and experience the signals of the dog. Here you will need hiking clothes, good shoes, and a sharp look – and the ability to be completely quiet.

At an agreed place you will meet the guide and moose dog of the day. The guide is an experienced tour guide and moose hunter. His dog will lead the way on a walk that will last for 3 hours (3-5 km walk). During the trip you will learn a little about how moose hunting with a dog is practiced as well as get a little insight into how to read the dog and let it lead the way. The moose does not necessarily follow upturned paths and fixed routes. Thus, as a participant, you must be prepared to really get out into the terrain. We can guarantee that you will see both traces and dung of moose, but we cannot guarantee that you will get to meet the main character. Halfway through the trip you will be served coffee/hot drinks by the guide as well as a little taste of the moose. The guide will also convey good stories as well as tell about the cultural remains you pass through in the forest.

Moose safari without moose guarantee

Even if we make the trip to a time when we have the best chance of seeing moose, we cannot guarantee our success. Finnskogen is not a zoo and the wild animals wander wherever they want when they want. We will nevertheless do our best to make you have a pleasant time in the forest.
